In this economy we can all benefit from our money going farther this holiday season. Here are some simple and fun gift ideas for young kids (and maybe older ones too!) This is just a “starter list” so please use this to build ideas on and remember to add yours to this list at the bottom, because we can use them all.
- small 4×6 photo albums. I gave my kids each one of these filled with several photos of them and other family members, friends, vacations, and fun events throughout the year. They all three love them (ages 3, 5, 7) and love that only half the album is full so they can continue to add photos! I found these particular albums at Costco, set of 4, with 100 pages each for around $15 or so (price was in the teens).
- picture frames. Kids love to have their favorite photo framed! You don’t necessarily need to put a photo in the frame because half the fun for them is choosing their favorite! Of course they love the colorful frames the best but choose what you think your child will like most!
- artwork folders. My kids like having a place to keep their favorite pieces of artwork they bring home from school. I keep the special ones in a safe place but I let them keep all the rest. They have one of those divided folders with a closure and the same thing that doesn’t have any dividers in it. The dividers are more for the older kids (7+) because they understand how to sort things.
I will add to these as I come across new ideas. PLEASE POST YOUR GREAT GIFT IDEAS TOO!
